Home learning challenge

Last week I did my first home learning challenge and I baked shortbread cookies for the workmen  that are doing the footpath. Here are some photos:

Reading prove it

WALT: I can make links across texts by recognizing connectives or adverbial clauses.
My reading goal was adverbial clauses. Here is a few examples, An adverbial clause is something that appears as a part of a sentence. It also does not make sense alone and it tells us how,where,when,how long or why. Listing things also does not count. Here is an example of an adverbial clauses, with a smiling face he accepted the award. The highlighted part is the adverbial clause because it appears as part of a sentence, it does not make sense alone and it tells how he accepted the award. We also learnt about some connectives. A connective is something that is used to link one sentence to another or you use it to extend a sentence. Some examples are, in addition to, as a result and even though. 
My solo level is relational because I feel I can do it with no help and I could help somebody in my group.

Today at tech I talked to the person next to me and when we were doing the planning for hard materials monique was a little bit stuck on what to do so I helped he out and told her what to do and in the end Monique and I finished most of our planning.

Today I had dance group. In dance group we are learning a new dance and with the dance we had to come up with some moves and when the teacher asked me what I had I showed her and she said they were great. Something I need to work on is trying harder to get the mover right.

 Today at tech I only talked to the person next to me on the bus and when the teacher told us that once we finished everything that we might be able to play a game of dodge ball I helped out Kyla and 

Monigue finish there even though they did not ask.

My career goal was to be an Animal Attendant. I chose this job because I love animals and would love to work with them.

Maths goal

WALT:Specify location using bearing or grid reference.

My next step is to have a teacher conference and find a new goal or do a test.

Today I was a little bit late for dance group. But it was ok because we had not started learning the dance yet.

My next step is to turn up on time and to make sure that all the people that I know turn up if they have signed up.

My Leadership goals

My goals were to get my excellence badge and also try and get a leadership role. My next step is to get my merit and excellence before the end of the year.

Today at dance group we had to sign up and also we had to choose a song to dance to.

My nex step is probably to contribute more. Next week we hope to do some dancing and see if we need to merge with the juniors.

My goal for this term was punctuation.
I think i did ok with this goal because did most of the strategies.

Reading goal

This is my reading goal for term 2. 
My goal was Analyse Similarity / Difference of language / discourse within / between texts.

First we had a poem and with that poem we had to find an analogy, metaphor and connotative language.
