This week in our leadership meeting Lauren and I were doing pozis and emailing some teachers about some stuff that is coming up in a e few weeks. I showed resilience when I was doing this because some teachers were not replying and the pozis kept getting mixed up. We also had to get all of the house points for the assembly that day

Kapa Haka merit badge #2

Last week at Kapa haka we were just learning the songs and some of the actions. It was kinda hard because the people in front of us were doing it wrong or they were being silly, so I had to show resilience and just ignore what they were doing or help them with the actions.

Today at our leadership meeting we talked about integrity and what three things we have to do to have it. The main one was always tell the truth.
In the meeting I showed resilience because when we were talking why we need to do this and I was having a little bit of trouble thinking of things.

Playing games with the juniors

Today we planned a game for the junior school. I was working with Alyssa, we played the game Caterpillar jumping.
This is how you play:

1. Lay on your tummy, make sure there is gaps
2. One person will be jumping into the gaps and then once they have finished jumping you lay on you tummy and the person a the front will stand up and do the same thing.
3. Keep doing the same thing till you have reached the end of your boundary.         

We had two groups to play this with. We had a group of boys and a group of girls. I think the teachers were really happy with what we did and I hope they let us do it again some time. The boys were a bit better behaved then the girls because when we told the boys the rules they got it straight away but we had to explain it to the girls about 3 times.

                              

Food forest and working with the juniors Merit Badge must do #2

Over the last 2 days we have been doing leadership rotations. They included working with the juniors and and weeding in the food forest and in the garden behind the junior classes.

Yesterday in the junior class Room 14 we helped them out in their action stations and also working outside with the chalk. We had to do a CARE values lesson once they had finished with Miss F. Today in the junior area we had a preschool visit. We still did the action stations with them. I was outside with Alyssa doing chalk and hula hoops. But after about 10 minutes I had to leave for a meeting.

Yesterday when we were in the garden with Mr M we were pulling weeds out of the food forest as it had lots of weeds. When we put the gloves on they were way to small as they were for the juniors. That day I also had to leave early as I had another meeting to go to. Today when we were doing the weeding we had to weed the maize maze and harvest all of the corn.

We are doing these leadership rotations because the year 7's are away on camp and we did not want to sit around doing nothing as we thought that it would not help out our learning as much. It also benefited the juniors so they now feel more comfortable with us and no think of us as scary giants.

It was really fun working with the juniors and helping them get used to me and all of the other seniors. My junior that was really comfortable with me was Matilda because she was so fun and energetic. The weeding not so much as there were lots of bugs and lots of spiders. But overall it was really fun and I would definitely do it again.
